Our Story

How the Temple Came to Be

ISKCON Bali — Sri Sri Radha Rasesvara Temple was established in the tradition of Śrīla Prabhupāda’s global mission, bringing the timeless path of bhakti-yoga to the Island of the Gods. Bali, long renowned as a deeply spiritual island, provided a natural home for a Vaiṣṇava community: a culture that already reveres sacred images, performs daily worship, and understands the sanctity of prasadam.

The temple serves both the local devotee community and the thousands of visitors who travel to Bali each year seeking something beyond the ordinary. It stands as a place where pilgrims, travellers, seekers, and lifelong devotees all find a welcome.

Prasadam

The Mercy of the Lord

Prasadam — sanctified food offered to the Deity before being distributed — is one of the most distinctive and beloved aspects of Kṛṣṇa consciousness. At ISKCON Bali, prasadam is prepared with devotion, using fresh vegetarian ingredients, and offered to Rādhā Raseśvara before every meal.

It is available after the morning programme, the Sunday Love Feast, and all major festivals. Prabhupāda described prasadam as the most powerful form of preaching — “when you eat prasadam, you make spiritual advancement without even knowing it.”

🌿

100% Vegetarian

No meat, fish or eggs — in accordance with the principle of ahiṁsā (non-violence) and respect for all living beings.
🙏

Offered with Love

Every dish is prepared with prayer and devotion, then offered to Kṛṣṇa before being served. The offering transforms the food.
🌸

Free at Festivals

Prasadam is served free of charge after the Sunday Love Feast and major festivals. No one leaves hungry.
Our Principles

The Four Regulative Principles

01

No Meat Eating

Ahiṁsā — non-violence — extends to all living beings. Devotees follow a strict lacto-vegetarian diet, understanding every being as part of the family of God.

02

No Intoxication

The consciousness is a devotee’s greatest asset. Intoxicants — including alcohol, caffeine in quantity, and drugs — cloud the intelligence and impede spiritual progress.

03

No Illicit Sex

Intimate relationships are honoured within the framework of commitment and spiritual purpose — supporting, rather than distracting from, the path of devotion.

04

No Gambling

A life of clarity and integrity — free of activities that agitate the mind and breed greed — is conducive to the peace and focus that bhakti requires.
